CHEF/OWNER Wilfredo Avelar
Wilfredo Avelar is a New Orleans-based chef known for his extensive work with Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant group and his entrepreneurial success with his family’s restaurant, Mawí Tortillas. His culinary style is a unique blend of refined techniques learned in fine dining kitchens and the vibrant, authentic flavors of Central America, particularly from his Costa Rican and Salvadoran heritage.
Chef Avelar continues to expand his presence in the culinary world through consulting work and chef training. He is chef/owner of 2 Mawi Tortilla restaurants as well as launching Shorelines Coastal Kitchen, which focuses on Gulf Coast seafood with his signature creative flair.
